先週の金曜日、ストックホルムのガムラスタン（古い町）にあるレストランで4人で食事をした。持続可能なスウェーデン協会のレーナさん（ホームページ）、このブログのリンクに張られているヨーテボリ大学の博士課程の佐藤さん（スウェーデンの今）。そして、スウェーデン王立工科大学の修士で環境工学を学ばれている方。
　I met following people at tiny resutaurant in Gamla stan in Stockholm last friday. One is Lena Lindahl-san, the Japan Representative of “Sustainable Sweden Association”. One is Satou-san, a PhD student at Goteborg University, who has famous blog(“what is going on in Sweden”) among Japanese in Sweden. And the one who is now studying master course about Sustainable technology at KTH (Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan).
　佐藤さんは、もともとウプサラ大学への交換留学をされており、それがきっかけでその後もスウェーデンで研究を続けている。スウェーデンに関する（特に政治・経済の）情報が欲しいということなら、彼のブログがすごく参考になる。僕はスウェーデンにいながら彼のブログを通じてスウェーデンの状況を把握している。想像したとおり、とても博識で、それでいて気さくな方だった。
　Satou-san once came to Uppsala University as a exchange student in the past and then continued studying in Sweden. I recommend you to check his blog(only in japanese) when you want to know about information relating Politics and Economy in Sweden. I usually get information about sweden through his blog even though I am now living in Sweden… As I had expected, he was very knowledgable and kind.
　レーナさんには日本を出発する前にメールでご連絡した。環境政策についていろいろと資料を集めていたときにホームページを発見して、「持続可能な発展のための教育」というスウェーデンの環境教育についてまとめた報告書を送ってもらったのだ。今はスウェーデンの環境視察のアレンジを中心にして活動されている。とてもパワフルで笑顔の素敵な人だった。
　I got to know Lena-san through e-mail before I left Japan. I was collecting some information about Swedish policy toward Ecology when I saw her homepage and I asked her to send me a report about ESD（Education for Sustainable Development) in Sweden. She is now arranging many study tours from Japan as a coordinator and translator. She was so enegetic and had good smile.

　レーナさんから聞いたお話のひとつ。This is one of the story she told me about.
　この写真はスウェーデンのファーストフードチェーン、「MAX」のメニュー。ハンバーガーに被さっている、水色のCO2という文字が見えるだろうか。そう。このハンバーガーチェーンは、ハンバーガーの製造に掛かるCO2の量（Kg当たり)をわざわざ表示しているのである。彼らいわく、我々のハンバーガー製造に掛かるエネルギーの消費量は、家庭のそれと変わらない、地球に優しいのだ、と。
　This photo is a menu of “MAX” a Swedish fast food chain. Do you see the blue colored letter CO2 overlapping the hamburgers. Yeah, this swedish fast food company went so far as to indicate how much they used CO2 to produce one Kg hanburger. They said like ” Compared with homemade hamburger, there is no difference about how much energy to be used to produce hamburger”.
　なかなかチャーミングな取り組みだ。こういうものが出てくるということは、何だかんだと、スウェーデン人のエコに対する意識が高いということなのかもしれない。これは日本のファーストフード業界でも真似できることだと思う。ぜひとも、ロッテリアとかモスバーガーとかにやってもらいたい。
　I thought that this was really charming effort. I could not help but thinking Swedish people may have a keen awareness of the problem of environment. I would say that this is not so difficult to do the same thing in Japan. I hope some Japanese fast food companies, like LotteLia and Mosburger, introduce it.
　※　ちなみにMAXはマクドナルドよりも断然美味しいと思う。スウェーデンに来たら食べください。
　※　It seems to me that MAX is much better than MAC. I recommend you to eat it when you come to Sweden.
